16 SUMMER MIDNIGHT SHOWS

Q : Do you have any kind of special group rates?
A:  Yes we do.  Our group rates vary from parties of 15 to fundraisers of over 250.  We are part of the community and want everybody to enjoy the movie going experience.

Q:  What if I wanted reserved seating or a private auditorium for an event or party?
A:
Just ask.  We will work with you anyway we can.  We host a variety of community organizations almost weekly, some come for private showings, others public.

Q:  If I have a private party, can we bring our own food and beverages?
A:
Sure.  We love when people buy from the concession stand but we are reasonable when it comes to renting an auditorium.  It's not much fun if you can't afford it.

Q:  My son and his friends love playing video games.  I want to have a party that they can play video games instead of watching a movie...is this possible?
A:
Your child and their friends are in for a truly unique experience.  We have the ability to play any Xbox or Playstation game on the big screen, they can even play online.  Email us or speak with the manager for more details.

Q:  I am looking for donations from businesses to help us raise money for our school/church/non-profit organization, etc.  Would Hometown Cinemas be interested in participating?
A:
Absolutely!  We personally support the Variety Children's Charity.  We are passionate about lending a helping hand whenever possible...it's what makes the world go 'round.  Just email us or speak with your local Hometown Cinemas theatre manager.

Q:  I recently visited your theatre and had a less than pleasant experience.  I would like to speak with someone about what happened because I am very bothered by what happened.  Is there someone I can talk to?
A:
Your complaint will never fall on deaf ears at Hometown.  We urge you to email our corporate office if you have any problems.  We will respond and do everything possible to make things right because we care about what our customers think.  In many cases this is the best way to get the attention of the owner himself because "There's no place like Hometown!"

Did You Know?
A 35 mm feature film is unique to all other types of presentations.   At 24 frames per second, a foot and a half of film passes in front of the lens every second.  The average 100 minute film is over 9,000 feet long!  That's over a mile and a half in length.   Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 is over 13,000 feet long or two and a half miles in length.  Sorry but there is no rewind button.

A 35 mm projector bulb is extremely powerful.  Projector lamps are xeon gas bulbs about 18'' in length and if the 390 PSI pressurized lamp breaks glass can potentially rip through metal sending glass hundreds of feet in all directions.  Lamps must be handled with gloves because even the slightest bit of oil from your fingers can severely weaken the glass eventually rupturing the lamp when ignited.

Bulb brightness ranges from 2,000 watts to 4,000 watts.  The intense heat and light bleaches the metal inside the projector and can easily melt film if it stops in front of the lens for even a split second.  Fortunately todays film is not combustible like it was many years ago as portrayed in the film Inglorious Bastards.
